Jen primarily works with children and adolescents ages 3-18. Jen also works with adults who have disabilities. Jen uses the creative process of art therapy, play therapy and traditional “talk” therapy. By using art and play therapy, these methods allow for individuals to express themselves in ways they may not be able to using traditional “talk” therapy. Jen provides a safe, non-threatening, and supportive environment for individuals seeking therapy. Jen works with parents and families to provide emotional support, training, and conflict resolution. Jen also collaborates with schools and doctors to promote consistency in treatment.
Jen is a licensed clinical professional counselor and a registered art therapist. Jen has worked with children, adolescents, and adults since 2001 in a variety of settings, including a private day school and women’s shelter. Jen has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults and their families dealing with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities.
Jen earned a Masters degree in art therapy counseling from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She has also completed training for professionals working with individuals who have autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities. Jen also regularly participates in numerous seminars and conferences that address the mental health problems of children, adolescents, and adults.
